DomesticSoft Inc. is a startup U.S. Corporation founded in late 2001. It brings together founders with a wide background and extensive experience in scientific software, enterprise software, industrial control software, graphics software, and business management.

DomesticSoft device networking technology called Control2Net enables end-users to remotely connect, monitor, control, sense, and diagnose intelligent devices in multiple remote buildings. Today, hundreds of buildings in Europe are controlled and monitored with Control2Net. You can find such buildings in many aspect of the device networking environment-from lighting control and energy consumption control in buildings, to street lighting of thousands of light poles. Control2Net simplifies system management, conserve energy, improve operations, and reduce costs.

DomestiSoft has research & development headquarters in Mosfellsbaer, Iceland – As such the Icelandic market is an ideal experiment market for "out-post-technology". It is among the top in the world in terms of penetration for process automation, personal computers and Internet technology.

Objectives

1. To develop a universal, easily extendable, open standard connectivity solution between building automation hardware and Enterprise Applications. The current products in this field is Control2Net and OPC2Net.
2. Site device networking (e.g. building control systems) consulting. To assist customers implementing total building automation solutions. In particular our solution is powerful for businesses with geographically distributed buildings or other types of infrastructure needing device networking in each site.

The basic idea is to focus on the current market of building control, quality control etc. to bring the company to profit at as short time as possible. Technically the two objectives overlap quite much. Therefore, objective 2 is more or less a straight continuation of objective 1.

DomesticSoft develops, publishes, and markets open software for both commercial control & monitoring as well as software for the new exciting home network market, which includes software and documentation.  It makes complex, hard to use technology accessible to millions of users who would otherwise not have the knowledge to use it.  It makes a profit and generates cash.
We also maintain a friendly, fair, and creative work environment, which respects diversity, new ideas, and hard work. We look at software development like writing a novel. The developers have to bee in the right mood all the time, and we need the best people independent of residence. Using newest Internet technology enables, us to distribute the development teem all over the world where country and cultural borders are unknown.
