Success Story
OPC2net has been selected by Securitas Iceland to interface its head quarters fire system to a Sentech Scenic based Graphical User Interface.
The fire system at Securitas Iceland is NOTIFIER ID2008 based. OPC2net interfaces over 3000 OPC variables from the fire system to the BMS. The BMS system is a graphical system, displaying all smoke detectors, manual call points etc., as graphical objects in a two dimensional model of the building.
"Securitas Iceland was the first company to install OPC2net for Fire Panel access", said Palmar Thorisson Securitas Technical Division Manager. "We first did that with the alpha version available in February 2002. As the NOTIFIER solution provider in Iceland, we have been very interested in this solution. We have requested many changes and adaptations from DomesticSoft to better fulfil our needs. I must say DomesticSoft even did better than fulfilling our expectations. Today OPC2net combined with NOTIFIER Fire Panels and a Graphical User Interface, form the perfect solution for Fire Detection Systems. We have many customers in Iceland that have shown much interest in installing OPC2net to improve their Graphical access to their Building System. We intend to install OPC2net as a standard module in commercial buildings in the future. OPC2net has revealed to us as a very easy to use tool. Very little technical knowledge is needed to install it and interface to it, from the Windows applicatons like the Graphical User Interface we designed."
"It has been a grate pleasure working with Securitas on designing and implementing OPC2net", said Throstur Jonsson DomesticSoft President. "They have helped us understand the needs and problematic regarding Fire Systems. We have listened very carefully on their comments and requests as they have long term experience in installing and running Fire Systems."
